When you create messages, we store your encrypted message content, recipient information, and check-in schedule preferences. Message content is encrypted end-to-end and cannot be read by Eterna.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Eterna service
  • Send check-in reminders on your chosen schedule
  • Deliver your messages to designated recipients when triggered
  • Send you product updates and waitlist communications
  • Improve our service and user experience

3. Encryption & Security

Your messages are encrypted using end-to-end encryption. This means only you and your designated recipients can decrypt and read your messages. Eterna employees cannot access your message content.

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data storage, secure HTTPS connections, and regular security audits to protect your information.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Your messages are stored securely for as long as your account is active. You can delete any message permanently at any time — deleted messages cannot be recovered.

If you close your account, all of your data — including messages, recipient information, and account details — will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., email delivery, hosting), subject to strict confidentiality agreements.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for communications at any time
  • Export your data in a portable format
